In INTOSAI Publication, TCU Publishes Article on Fight Against Corruption and Money Laundering
The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) has published an article in the 4th edition of the newsletter of the INTOSAI Working Group on Fight Against Corruption and Money Laundering (WGFACML). The article, titled “The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts invests in institutional partnerships, data analysis and the use of AI in the fight against corruption,” discusses TCU’s key role in preventing and combating corruption in Brazil.
The article details the investments made by the Court in institutional partnerships, data analysis and the use of AI to ensure transparency, efficiency, and compliance in the activities conducted by the Brazilian public administration. The TCU employs advanced tools, such as the LabContas platform, which integrates various public administration databases, as well as tools like Alice and SAO, which automate the analysis of invitations to bid and budgets for public works, respectively.
Besides, the Court develops other initiatives that use geotechnology and geospatial analysis techniques to enhance its audit and oversight activities.
The 4th edition of the newsletter provides information on events focused on the prevention and fight against corruption, such as the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), held in Atlanta in December 2023, and the WGFACML meeting, which took place in Thailand in October last year. The publication also highlights a speech delivered by the President of TCU, Minister Bruno Dantas, during the 10th edition of the Annual International Conference on Integrity, held in November 2023.
