The TCU Director of External Audit at the UN Board of Auditors, Mauricio Wanderley, along with Eduardo Favero, Secretary of the Department of External Control for the UN (SecexONU), participated in the International Audit Congress held in Santiago, Chile, on September 5 and 6.

During one of the panels, Favero presented the topic “SAIs and International Organizations: Good Governance, Challenges, and Global Topics on External Control.” He addressed three main aspects: (i) the role of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs); (ii) the alignment of SAIs' activities with the issues and challenges faced by international organizations; and (iii) the ClimateScanner.

Mauricio Wanderley took part in the panel titled “Launch of the Memorandum Document of the CGR's 2018-2024 Mandate as a Member of the United Nations Board of Auditors.” During this event, he discussed the transition process from Chile to Brazil within the Board.

The congress, organized by the Chilean Comptroller General Office, aimed to showcase the accomplishments of SAI Chile over its six-year tenure as a member of the United Nations Board of Auditors.

The event also facilitated a sharing of best practices and insights on international external audits among attendees, which included auditors from the SAIs of Germany, Brazil, Chile, China, France, and the United Kingdom. The event was also attended by the United Nations Representative, Zachary Ikiara, and the former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Board of Auditors, Anjana Das.
