Coming from a family of public servants and with extensive experience in Public Administration, where he worked throughout his career, Minister Antonio Augusto Anastasia holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and a Master's degree in Administrative Law from the Faculty of Law at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where he taught for many years. He was a senator for Minas Gerais (2015/2022) and vice-president of the Federal Senate (2019/2020), author and rapporteur of important Laws and Constitutional Amendments. Before that, he was governor of Minas Gerais (2010/2014) and vice-governor (2007/2010), as well as State Secretary of Planning and Management (2003/2006) and Social Defense (2005/2006). In the Federal Government, he was the executive secretary of the Ministry of Labor (1995/1999) and the Ministry of Justice (1999/2001). He is currently a professor at several higher education institutions.
