By Secom / Serint

The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) participated in the webinar "Digital Transformation and Quality Assurance," organized by the Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (OISC/CPLP). The event was hosted by the Portuguese Court of Accounts, serving as the OISC/CPLP Training and Studies Centre, in partnership with the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI). The webinar was part of the Organization’s 2024 Action Plan and received support from the TCU, in its role as the General Secretariat of OISC/CPLP.

Approximately 80 participants attended the online webinar at the end of November. The event aimed to strengthen institutional capacities, promote knowledge sharing, and disseminate best practices among OISC/CPLP members.

Participants had the opportunity to explore strategic topics, including IDI programs focused on digital transformation, such as PICTure, LOTA, and SAI PMF. The event also featured ongoing projects from the Portuguese Court of Accounts related to digital transformation and public procurement, as well as the Court’s experience in quality management and assurance, with concrete examples of application.

The webinar was opened by Vanessa Röpke, Director of International Cooperation at the TCU's Department of International Relations (Serint), representing the Organization’s General Secretariat.  The event also featured an interactive discussion session, where participants engaged with speakers and exchanged insights on the topics covered.

While coordinated by the IDI, headquartered in Norway, the event was conducted entirely in Portuguese and included a presentation by TCU staff member Adriano Juras, representing the IDI.

This initiative highlighted OISC/CPLP’s commitment to fostering innovative and effective solutions for public management challenges, aligned with the evolving demands of digital transformation.

TCU's Engagement with OISC/CPLP

The TCU is a founding member of OISC/CPLP and has served as the Organization’s General Secretariat since its establishment in 1995, when it was initially known as the Joint Technical Cooperation Commission. Since July of this year, Minister Benjamin Zymler has held the position of Secretary-General. The activities of the General Secretariat are managed by the Minister’s office, with technical and operational support from the Department of International Relations (Serint).
