ChatTCU featured at international event on artificial intelligence

On October 17, the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) participated in the online event "Generative AI for Government”, conducted by O'Reilly, an American technology learning platform. Auditors from the Department of Information Technology and Digital Evolution (SETID), Eric Hans and Monique Monteiro, represented the Court and delivered the lecture “ChatTCU – Leveraging ChatGPT to improve the productivity of auditors”. During the event, they emphasized the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) by TCU. 

Generative AI allows the creation of original content by computers and can be applied in various situations and sectors. In this regard, the auditors’ participation in the event was an opportunity to showcase how TCU has been leveraging the latest advances in artificial intelligence to improve audit activities and support its employees in work processes. 

SETID representatives shared the Court's solution for the safe use of ChatGPT by its auditors, demonstrating how to use their capabilities without compromising the security of confidential data and addressing key issues for government data professionals. TCU auditors were the only representatives of Brazil among the speakers. “We are proud of our team and motivated to continue innovating and leading the evolution process in the field of technology”, emphasized the Head of SETID, Rainério Leite. 

The presentation reinforces the important role that TCU plays in promoting digital transformation, both internally and within the Brazilian public administration.
