Webinar series addresses budget credibility through government audit
A series of three webinars begins on February 1st. Jointly organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the NGO International Budget Partnership (IBP), the webinars will focus on the contributions of government audit in strengthening the credibility of the public budget. The opening webinar is appropriately titled "Identifying and Managing Risks to Budget Credibility through Government Audit".
The second meeting is scheduled for February 8th and will discuss the theme "Annual audit of the general accounts of the National Budget". Presentations will be given by auditors Neemias Albert de Souza, from the Audit Department for Account Certification (AudFinanceira), and Roberto Santos Victer, from the Audit Department for Budget, Taxation and Fiscal Management (AudFiscal). The final webinar, set for February 15th, will address "Strengthening the results of Public Financial Management through government audit".
The webinars, scheduled to happen via Zoom platform on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.,
will be presented in English. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments, either verbally or in writing, to the panel members.The webinar series is a result of the development of the International Handbook on Budget Credibility, in which the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) participated.
