In the pursuit of excellence in the exercise of its constitutional and legal competences, the Office of the President implemented relevant corporate adjustments at the beginning of the year, streamlining administrative structures and work processes.

In terms of financial benefits, the results obtained from the deliberations issued by TCU in the first three months of the year totaled   US$ 1.2 billion, 9.49 times higher than the Court's operating cost in the period. Altogether, 93 audits were completed and 1,053 external control processes were conclusively appreciated.

Regarding the works carried out by the Court in the first quarter, it is worth mentioning the audit that evaluated the works of the generation and transmission projects of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), in the Xingu River, in the State of Pará, in the north region. In the audit, it was found that a stoppage in the implementation of transmission lines prevented the generation potential of the North region from being discharged to other regions, with losses that should exceed U$ 376.4 milion.

Another important work was the analysis and approval of the last stage of the concession of public services for expansion, maintenance and operation of the infrastructure of international airports of Florianópolis, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, and Salvador.

The digital version of the report in Portuguese is available on the TCU Portal and contains hyperlinks to additional information such as featured audits and the full content of deliberations, as well as services available to the public.
