TCU's Thesaurus - External Control Vocabulary is translated into English and Spanish
The Thesaurus of the Federal Court of Accounts - Brazil (TCU) - External Control Vocabulary (VCE), a tool used to standardize and organize specialized information, contains the meaning of technical terms and their equivalents, speeding up the exchange of data between corporate systems. The resource has 25 thousand terms and can be used as a glossary to find the meaning of expressions related to the Court's diverse universe of activities.
The tool is available electronically, at the address for the TCU Thesaurus. On the site, the user can search for terms as in a Google search, with a structure of definitions, notes, synonyms, related terms, and translations. This data comes preferably from government sources. The platform also includes names of all localities and institutions with some kind of relationship with the TCU.
To date, more than 30% of the VCE terms have been translated, content that corresponds to the areas of health, education, procurement and contracts, law, foreign relations, and public administration. The work, which began in 2021, is scheduled for completion in 2023.
The translation of the TCU Thesaurus terms is part of the work developed by the Documentation Center (Cedoc) of the Serzedello Corrêa Institute (ISC), with the purpose of making the language of the Federal Court of Accounts more global and inclusive.
