The President of the Brazilian Court of Accounts (TCU), Minister Bruno Dantas, opens the International Forum of Government Auditing (FIAG) at the Museu do Amanhã
During the three-day event, the Forum will stage discussions on themes of relevance in the world scenario, such as poverty reduction, hunger eradication, gender equality, fiscal responsibility, and the prevention of fraud and corruption.
According to the Minister, “all the themes addressed in the forum are of close interest to society, since the very reason for control institutions to exist is to contribute to improving public administration, with regards to topics of interest to each country as well as to the world itself”.
Minister Dantas also highlighted that a close relationship with academic specialists and organizations from different sectors will contribute to amplify the debate and help improve government control activities. “I hope that, by collaborating with their expertise to improve government auditing, the participant institutions be able to benefit from the exchange of experiences and also know that control institutions are here for them for us to work together”, remarked Dantas.
The president of the Supreme Audit Institution of the United Arab Emirates, Harib Al Amimi, pointed out that the role of the Forum is to promote a stronger dialogue between SAIs and the academy. For him, this integration will be fundamental to broaden knowledge, especially in themes such as public fiscal responsibility, citizen engagement, and digital transformation.
