Minister-Substitute Weder de Oliveira represents the TCU at the Regional CReCER 2025 Conference in Peru

On May 13 and 14, Minister-Substitute Weder de Oliveira represented the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) at the Regional CReCER 2025 Conference, held in Lima, Peru. Organized by the World Bank, the event was themed “Accelerating Sustainability and Innovation for Economic Growth across Latin America and the Caribbean” and brought together government leaders, regulators, accounting professionals, and international experts.
The event promoted best practices and encouraged dialogue and cooperation between public and private institutions on key topics such as transparency, accountability, sustainability, and innovation, with a special focus on their application in accounting, auditing, and fiscal and financial reporting.
The conference's core objectives included promoting high-quality financial and sustainability reporting practices; strengthening local financial markets; attracting private investment; and supporting effective public policies aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth in Latin American and Caribbean countries.
In addition to participating in the conference, Minister Weder met with the CEO of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Lee White. They discussed potential partnerships and joint initiatives between IFAC and the TCU, particularly focusing on actions targeted at Latin America
The Minister also paid an institutional visit to the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru, where he was received by the newly appointed Comptroller General, Cesar Enrique Aguilar Surichaqui. During the visit, he had the opportunity to learn more about the National School of Control, an institution linked to the Peruvian Comptroller General's Office.
The TCU’s participation in CReCER 2025 and related institutional engagements reaffirms its commitment to the exchange of best practices and the continuous improvement of public governance. The Tribunal's international role further underscores its position as a benchmark in promoting transparency, sustainability, and innovation in public sector management, both in Brazil and across Latin America.
