Minister Benjamin Zymler Participates in the Celebrations for the 23rd Anniversary of the Angolan Court of Auditors
Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) Minister Benjamin Zymler traveled to Luanda to participate in the celebrations for the 23rd anniversary of the Angolan Court of Auditors, held from April 10 to 12. The commemoration, spearheaded by Sebastião Gunza, President of the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Angola, showcased presentations pertinent to external control. Minister Zymler addressed the audit of public policies conducted by the TCU.
The meeting also enabled the Supreme Audit Institutions of Angola, Brazil and Portugal to share their experiences as signatories to a technical cooperation agreement. The Court of Accounts journal and the book "Corporate Governance Studies" were both launched to honor Elisa Rangel Nunes, a respected figure in Angolan financial law.
The Angolan Minister of Finance, Vera Davos de Sousa, delivered a speech on the topic "Good Practices of Budgetary Performance: efficient resource management, public spending control, and transparency in the use of resource". The president of the Portuguese Court of Audit, José Tavares, addressed the topic of "Concurrent Audit: outcomes and benefits."
Participating in the series of debates were the counselor judges to the Angolan Court of Audit Armindo Jelembi and Elisa Rangel Nunes, as speakers, and Arlete Conceição, Conceição Dias, Eva Almeida, and Manuel da Cruz Neto, as moderators.
The counselor judge to the Constitutional Court of Angola Gilberto Magalhães moderated the presentation "The type of control of the Court of Audit over public contractual activity: control of mere legality or control over the merits of efficiency in good administration", given by Carlos Maria Feijó.

Also representing SAI Brazil were Lílian Martins, counselor from the Court of Accounts of Piauí; Marcus Presídio, president of the Court of Accounts of Bahia; Inaldo Araújo Paixão, counselor from the Court of Accounts of Bahia; Cezar Miola and Marco Peixoto, counselors from the Court of Accounts of Rio Grande do Sul; and Plínio Carneiro, president of the Court of Accounts of the Municipalities of Bahia.
