Inspired by my father, Antonio Vital do Rêgo, great jurist and politician from Paraíba, I entered public life still very young, at age 25. Graduated in Medicine and Law, I exercised elective offices as councilor twice, state representative for three legislatures, federal deputy and senator, when, in 2014, by honorable indication of the Senate, I took over as Minister of the Federal Court of Accounts. Integrating the Court is, for me, the culmination of this long road of challenges and learning, also accompanied by higher responsibilities. The desire to contribute to the search for a fairer country drives me to hold office with diligence, independence and commitment, essential elements to undertake the duties of TCU, a body that plays an extremely important role in the improvement of the Brazilian government, always with the ultimate goal of well serving the interests of the citizens.
