On April 7, the President of the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) and Chair of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), Minister Vital do Rêgo, attended a workshop in Oslo, Norway, organized by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) as part of the “SAI Audit Analytics” program.

“SAI Audit Analytics” is a structured program designed to develop highly skilled auditors and Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) that are prepared to apply advanced technologies in the conduct of financial, performance, and compliance audits. The initiative focuses on making the use of data analytics a systematic and sustainable practice within these institutions. One of the goals of the workshop is to explore ways to equip auditors to integrate data analytics and artificial intelligence into audit processes.

In his remarks, the President emphasized the importance of applying technology to advance financial auditing and enhance performance auditing.

“The impact of technology use is significant for citizens, as it results in more transparent and effective audits, which in turn lead to better management of public resources and strengthen trust in government institutions,” noted Vital.

On the occasion, IDI Director General Einar Gorrissen thanked the TCU and INTOSAI for their support of the initiative.
