TCU Audit Featured in Discussion on Delivering Value to Brazil's Public Healthcare Users
During the 11th Latin American Forum on Healthcare Quality and Safety, a TCU representative presented initiatives to improve hospital procurement and strengthen healthcare networks

The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) took part in the 11th Latin American Forum on Healthcare Quality and Safety, held from July 28 to 30 in São Paulo. Organized by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in partnership with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), the event was held under the theme "The Patient Perspective: Connections That Transform."
The forum brought together professionals and experts in healthcare technology, quality, and patient safety. Representing the TCU, Alexandre Giraux, Head Auditor of the Court's Specialized Healthcare Audit Unit, joined a panel discussion on strategic public-private partnerships to promote equity and efficiency in healthcare.
The discussion explored how collaboration between the public and private sectors can deliver greater value to users of Brazil's Unified Health System (SUS). During the session, the auditor presented initiatives undertaken by the TCU to improve public healthcare management.
One of the highlights was the Court's audit of hospital services procurement, which aims to help improve these partnerships by placing citizens and the quality of healthcare services at the center of procurement practices.
He also presented a pilot project led by the TCU to assess the maturity of Healthcare Networks, an initiative designed to strengthen integration across Brazil's public healthcare system.
The forum brought together a specialized audience and fostered the exchange of experiences and best practices to strengthen healthcare management.
