On October 13 and 14, the TCU participated in the International Summit on Good Governance and State Oversight in Quito, Ecuador. Organized by the Office of the Comptroller General of the State of Ecuador, the event brought together representatives of supreme audit institutions (SAIs) and international organizations to discuss challenges and experiences related to public governance, transparency, integrity, and the effectiveness of government auditing.

Deputy Minister Marcos Bemquerer represented the TCU, which holds the presidency of the Organization of Latin American and Caribbean Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS) for the 2026 2028 term. At the opening ceremony, he highlighted the importance of international cooperation and the role of audit institutions in promoting improvements in public management and concrete results for society.

The Deputy Minister also participated in the panel Citizen Participation and Accountability as Pillars of the State, in which he presented TCU initiatives aimed at bringing government auditing and society closer together. These included the You Choose, the TCU Audits program, which allows citizens to contribute to the definition of oversight priorities, and the TCU Reference Framework for Citizen Participation, the Spanish version of which was shared with participants.

The discussions also covered topics such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence applied to oversight, preventive oversight, performance evaluation of SAIs, and mechanisms to strengthen institutional independence.

The TCU's participation contributed to the exchange of experiences with institutions from different countries and to strengthening regional cooperation within OLACEFS, particularly on issues related to citizen participation, innovation, and the generation of public value.
