The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will hold the webinar Improving the Audit Function with AI on September 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Brasília time, to discuss opportunities and challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in public-sector auditing.
The event will present the results of a collaborative project carried out by the OECD, the European Commission, and regional audit institutions in Austria. The project examined how audit institutions are using AI to strengthen their activities and developed use cases aimed at supporting audit functions.
The webinar will present the project's main findings, an overview of the current state of AI adoption in public-sector auditing, and practical opportunities for small and regional audit institutions.
Topics will include the use of AI to process large volumes of information, identify patterns, streamline tasks, and contribute to the quality and efficiency of audit work. The webinar will also address challenges related to data governance and security, professional training, institutional preparedness, and the responsible use of technology.
