International Course Explores Auditing Artificial Inteligence in the Public Sector
Free training program brings together international experiences and provides a detailed overview of the risks, ethical considerations, and audit methodologies for AI systems in public administration

The program, titled Auditing AI in the Public Sector, was launched by the Information Technology Working Group of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI). It is coordinated by the Supreme Audit Institution of Estonia and developed in collaboration with other SAIs, reflecting a pioneering and experimental approach that draws on international experience.
The course covers a wide range of topics, from foundational concepts to regulatory and ethical issues, as well as practical audit techniques and trends linked to the use of artificial intelligence including generative AI in public administration. It is designed for auditors, IT professionals, and anyone interested in the topic.
The program is free and is structured into four modules:
- Introduction to artificial intelligence and its implications for government.
- Security and data in AI systems.
- Auditing AI systems: frameworks and methodologies.
- Future trends and continuous learning.
Delivered online via the Moodle platform, the course is self-paced and has no deadline for completion. Participants who finish all modules receive a certificate.
