The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) participated in the III OECD Ministerial Summit on Governance in Latin America and the Caribbean, held in Asunción, Paraguay, on November 10 and 11. During the event, organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the OLACEFS Special Technical Commission for the Environment (COMTEMA), auditor João Paulo Jorge de Oliveira (AudSustentabilidade/SecexDesenvolvimento) presented the ClimateScanner and ClimaBrasil Panel projects.
The initiative coincided with the opening of COP 30 in Belém (PA), highlighting the role of audit institutions in tackling climate change. The projects presented by TCU aim to increase transparency and environmental governance by providing data and analyses on climate policies at multiple levels.
ClimateScanner, available at ClimateScanner.org, collects and analyzes data from over 100 countries, offering a consolidated view of climate policies and actions on a global scale. ClimaBrasil Panel, available at PainelClimaBrasil.org, provides detailed information on governance, public policies, and climate financing at national level, covering all 26 states and 24 capitals in Brazil.
The event was attended by senior officials from audit institutions across the region, including the Comptroller General of Chile, Dorothy Pérez, the Comptroller of Costa Rica, Marta Acosta Zúñiga, the Comptroller General of Ecuador, Maurício Torres, and the Deputy Comptroller of Peru, Marco Argadoña Dueñas. Technical staff from Paraguay, the host country, were also present.
Brazil's presence at the meeting reinforced the regional commitment to transparency and environmental governance, as well as strengthening cooperation among the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of Latin America.
