The Special Technical Commission for the Environment (Comtema) of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS) will host the webinar Sustainable Infrastructure, Climate Change and Resilience on May 27. The event is part of the dialogue series Environmental Governance and Public Oversight and will be streamed at 1:00 p.m. (Brasília time) on the OLACEFS YouTube channel.
The initiative is led by the Comtema chair, held by SAI Paraguay for the 2025 2027 term. The goal is to promote the exchange of experiences among Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs), public bodies, academia, civil society, international organizations and the private sector on challenges related to environmental governance, public integrity and climate adaptation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This will be the second dialogue in the series. The discussion will focus on the role of public infrastructure projects as tools for climate adaptation. The agenda is structured around five main pillars: sustainable standards and ESG criteria; climate investment and financing; environmental impact assessment; disaster risk management; and the use of data and technology for oversight activities.
Comtema's dialogue series was designed to address issues related to environmental corruption, sustainable infrastructure and climate justice. The first meeting, held in March, discussed critical risks to sustainable development. The third session, scheduled for August, will focus on climate justice.
