TCU Organizes International Competition on the INTOSAI Framework of Professional Pronouncements

By Secom / Serint

The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) will be responsible for organizing the 2026 edition of the International Competition on the INTOSAI Framework of Professional Pronouncements (IFPP), an international competition on the IFPP, a set of INTOSAI professional official statements on audit-related matters. The TCU serves as Vice-Chair of the INTOSAI Professional Standards Committee.

The competition is structured as an online examination conducted in English and seeks to encourage auditors and professionals from member institutions to deepen their knowledge of international public auditing standards. This initiative contributes to strengthening the quality, credibility, and standardization of audits conducted in the public sector.

Registration is open until July 31. As there is a limit on the number of entries per Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) and the selection will be made in order of registration, TCU applicants are advised to apply as soon as possible. Information on rules, schedule, participation criteria and awards are available on the official competition website. The official website of the competition was fully developed by the TCU, in a partnership involving the Department of International Relations (Serint), the Department of Communications (Secom), and Content Management Solutions Unit (Segec).

The first stage of the competition is expected to take place in September or October 2026, with the global final round anticipated for October or November. Top-ranking participants may receive international recognition and professional development awards, including training opportunities and support for certification.

The International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) operates as an umbrella organization for external government audit bodies from various countries. The PSC is INTOSAI's Professional Standards Committee, responsible for supporting the development and improvement of international public auditing standards. The IFPP is INTOSAI Framework of Professional Pronouncements, which brings together the principles, standards and guidelines used by SAIs.
