The President of the Federal Court of Accounts - Brazil (TCU), Minister José Mucio Monteiro, opened yesterday (January 23^rd) the first plenary session of 2019. He welcomed the ministers, members of the Public Prosecution Office within TCU (MPTCU), the federal employees, staff members, and interns working at TCU.

"The year begins full of challenges. The country is going through a moment of great expectations. Every Brazilian brings a heart full of hope. May TCU, with its tradition and history of working, for more than a hundred years, in the audit and control of the use of public money, continue to honor the mission entrusted by the Brazilian people, through the Federal Constitution, of being this great guardian of public money", urged the president.

Mucio asserted that the Presidency is counting on everyone's support and that, once again, it is available for dialogue and debate of ideas. The Minister President is certain that the value of the Court is in the people who work in the institution. "We need to join forces, dialogue, and talk more. The answers we need are all in here", he defended.

And concluded: "I wish everyone a productive year, in which we, together, as a team, and with enthusiasm, social spirit and willingness to cooperate, to lead the destiny of this Court and continue working to offer better living conditions to Brazilian citizens and to provide relevant services to the country, as the Court has been doing in its 128 years of existence".
