Brasilia seminar strengthens OLACEFS members cooperative auditing skills
The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) will host a Capacity Building Seminar for the Working Group on Policy Auditing and Infrastructure Regulation (GTInfra) of the Organization of Latin American and Caribbean Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS) from May 21 to 23. The seminar focuses on auditing common concessions and public-private partnerships (PPPs) and includes participants from six countries: Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Paraguay, and Peru.
The seminar, to be held at the Serzedello Corrêa Institute for Capacity Building (ISC) in Brasília, will welcome both full and associate OLACEFS members. Attendees will comprise representatives from Latin American and Caribbean countries, TCU staff, members of state and municipal audit courts, and representatives from the Brazilian Office of the Comptroller General (CGU). The seminar aims to foster integration and strengthen skills among OLACEFS member countries in preparation for cooperative audits slated for the second half of 2024.
The capacity-building initiatives will leverage the technical reference framework for auditing concessions and PPPs, which was collaboratively developed. To accomplish this objective, the TCU spearheaded the initiative by conducting a public consultation. This dynamic initiative actively sought input, suggestions, and feedback from personnel in state audit courts, respected managers, academic stakeholders, and committed representatives of civil society organizations.
The three-day seminar program features panels covering procedures for auditing concessions and PPPs from an intersectoral perspective, along with discussions on relevant topics within the infrastructure sector.
